Stargate Atlantis is my current fannish obsession, and John & Rodney are totally my OTP. Outside of fandom my interests cycle rapidly. At the moment I'm reading a lot about Africa, language issues, and book arts. When the mood strikes I like to knit and swim laps. Not at the same time.

My job includes very long stretches at the computer without human interaction (real or virtual) so I listen to a lot of music to keep myself sane. I recently started listening to modern opera: John Adams' Doctor Atomic and Osvaldo Golijov's Ainadamar are my favorites right now.

"Eccentric weft" is a term from tapestry weaving, which I learned to do a few years ago but haven't really kept up with. It's when the weft thread slants up or down, usually to outline a shape, instead of being exactly at a 90 degree angle to the warp thread.
